- FOR SALE a beautiful classic 1998 Mastercraft
Prostar 205-Bowrider - This boat has some very unique features for an older
MasterCraft. And a
fuel injected FRESHWATER COOLED CLOSED LOOP HEAT EXCHANGER motor with just 46 hours
since a complete
overall in 2018. This open bow Prostar 205 has quite a cult following, making one of the
best wakes for skiing of any ski boat. I really now need the garage space after purchasing a classic antique car, I am going to miss this great boat, but something has to go for garage space reasons. I also own a 28 ft. Edgewater boat, and two boats are a little much at this time.
Renovated in 2014 - Complete drive train replaced
(see pics) - 350 TBI (throttle body injection) now with 46 Hours since complete overhaul in 2018 -
upgraded LT1 water pump, closed freshwater cooling system with stainless steel catch
strainer basket, flush systems, winterizing hardware, mufflers, new motor mounts,
new SS shaft, couplings, cutlass bushings, shaft packing housing, -Too many
parts to list for sure. Have entire book of receipts. Newer 4 Blade 13x13 prop.
Equise Interior by Viper customs from TN in 2014. Looks very nice, not perfect,
some small nicks, but very nice. Foam is in excellent condition. This is a
NO-WOOD construction boat. With the exception of the teak wood transom platform
of course, the construction of this boat uses no wood, it is a composite
construction with no wood rot, soft spots, structural stringer rot, or soft
decking going forward.
$2,000 - 3 month old stereo system that absolutely
sounds awesome. See details below. Refurbished Speedos, Main battery shut off switch
located in glove box - single battery set up, Dash panels (left and right) were
custom made in black acrylic CNC machine cut as an exact replacement of
original panels with all new Carling marine rocker switches that illuminate
when powered on. The left panel has the laser etched MasterCraft logo engraved in
silver contrast. Upgraded embossed stainless steel (4 total 2 fore and 2 aft) Pop
up Mastercraft Cleats. Boat gets a ton of compliments, as the Overall hull
shines, no paint/finish fade, the bottom of the boat (see pic) is near flawless
fiberglass condition. All gauges (even the dash clock) and lighting work as they should. Some small imperfections (mark or minor scratch(s) on
deck top sides. Rub rail has normal expected nicks and marks from docking,
loading, unloading. Original extremely nice teak transom platform that
instantly detaches with (2) stainless release pins (this also helps for garage
storage lesser length) Marine heat/sound reduction insulation installed inside
of motor cover. Blue Bimini top that is removed with s/s detent pins, this is a
taller top so you are not having to duck underneath it all the time height is about 6'6"
off boat floor deck.

I think you would be hard pressed to find a
comparable condition boat of this age that has less than 50 hours on the motor since
overhaul, and the upgraded unique closed loop freshwater cooling system that
this boat offers. There are several older ski boats with 500-1000 hours and much
more that will require expensive overall down the road. Those boats are also
limited for all intensive purposes to fresh water use only. This is an
extremely low engine hour boat that can be used in all types of water, fresh,
brackish, and even full salt given it's freshwater cooling system and after use
flushing design feature.
MOTOR:
350 GM TBI fuel injected full new motor replacement
in 2014 (full overhaul in 2018 due to over-heat which is why the new cooling
system WITH stainless strainer basket was installed) 46 hours since 2018 overhaul.
Subject to possible slight increase if used in the interim.
2020 upgraded stereo:
Fusion Marine MS-RA70 head unit (279.00) full blue
tooth and USB compatible (4) JL Audio Marine M770-CCX-CG-TB speakers (479.00
per pair x 2 pairs). These are the 7.7" "M" series upper tier JL speakers not
their lesser "MX" series. 5 channel JBL Marine 1800 watt separate amplifier
(479.00) with single JL Audio M8W5-CG-TB subwoofer (249.00). All JL speakers
are gloss black housings with titanium classic grills.
Boat has a blue (same color a Bimini top) outdoor storage
cover. I have not used it in quite sometime as the boat is stored in my rear
garage.
Trailer is a 2003 Aluminum Magic Tilt. Trailer is
older but in nice overall shape, and excellent mechanical shape. 3 month old
Carlisle Ultra CRT tires load range-E 10 ply heavy duty tires (not the typical
8 ply load range-D tires) with 3 month old 15x6x6 6 lug aluminum wheels with gloss
black inner contrast. Both tires and wheels have less than 30 miles on them. Spare
tire with standard galvanized rim, new H.D. jack with large roller wheel, new
winch and bow strap, new bow roller and center keel roller. Twin guide posts
with raised LED 6? oval lighting that does not get submerged when at the ramp. Wheel
bearings are new and packed less than 3 months ago. Fabricated steel prop
guard. I bought the new black bunk carpet to re-carpet the bunks but have not
done so yet, new bunk carpet is included.
I am sure I am missing a few things, boat runs perfectly
smooth and I encourage serious buyers that are welcome to go for a sea trial at
our local ramp that is about 5 minutes away.
*for some reason the ad format will not let me enter the length and beam in proper numbers in their fill boxes. The boat is 20' 7 inches in length and the beam is 7' 3 inches. The single cell fuel capacity is 34 gallons.
