YOU ARE LOOKING AT A VERY RARE 1956 DIXIE CRAFT 16ft RUNABOUT BOAT. MECHANICALLY IT IS WATER READY AND RUNS GREAT. IT WAS MADE IN CHATTANOOGA TENNESSEE BY THE HODGE BOAT MANUFACTURING COMPANY TO COMPETE WITH CHRIS CRAFT THAT ALSO HAD A FACTORY IN CHATTANOOGA AT THAT TIME. THIS BOAT IS VERY RARE AND IT IS BELIEVED TO BE THE ONLY ONE IN EXISTENCE. FROM THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE IT IS CONSTRUCTED FROM AFRICAN MAHOGANY. THIS BOAT HAS NO ROT AND IS ALL ORIGINAL. IT HAS A 35hp 50th ANNIVERSARY EVINRUDE LARK OUTBOARD. THE ENGINE RUNS GREAT AND HAS ALL ORIGINAL CONTROLS. IT IS ELECTRIC START AND CHOKE AND IT ALL WORKS AS IT SHOULD. IT HAS A NEW BATTERY, GAS TANK AND BILGE PUMP. THE GUY I GOT IT FROM PUT MARINE CAULK ON THE BOTTOM BECAUSE HE DIDN'T KNOW THE WOOD WOULD SWELL. PERSONALLY I WOULD REMOVE THAT. THIS BOAT SAT IN A BUILDING FOR YEARS AND THATS WHY IT IS IN SUCH GOOD CONDITION. I CAN'T FIND ANY BAD SPOTS ANYWHERE. THE TRAILER IS IN GOOD CONDITION WITH GOOD TIRES. This boat has gone through our Service Department and everything is as described. Engines idles good and shifts good. This boat was lake tested and runs good. The battery is bad it will need a new one, bow and stern lights work, MPH gauge is bad all the rest work, depth finder turns on but does not read, some seats have small rips and tears (see pictures), there are scratches above an below the rubrail and fading (see pictures), Prop is in ok condition, the stereo does not work, lights on boat work, fluid levels are good, floor is still solid with one minor soft spot in bow, transom is solid, it will need a new prop, driver side trailer wheel bearing is making some noise and will need replaced, trailer lights work, cover is descent with small rips and tears. Trailer and cover are included with this package.
